Fellowships

The UNC School of Government is committed to preparing public service leaders. As a public institution, we are also dedicated to serving the interests of North Carolina residents currently working in public service. We offer the North Carolina Public Service Fellowship and the North Carolina Public Leaders Fellowship to help North Carolina residents further advance their careers by earning an MPA online through MPA@UNC.

We also offer general MPA@UNC fellowships for which all students can be considered. Additionally, there may be opportunities for fellowships based on existing memberships in certain organizations. To be eligible, applicants must inform their admissions counselor that they have an active, regular (not student) membership at the time of application submission.

Approximately 60% of students get some sort of assistance through the following programs:

  • North Carolina Public Service Fellowship
  • North Carolina Public Leaders Fellowship
  • MPA@UNC Fellowship
  • Partner Organizations Fellowships

Please speak with an admissions counselor for information about additional fellowships.
